Position Reports To: Sr. Manager, Post-Production & Multimedia Systems Position Summary: MLB Network seeks a Multimedia Systems Engineer to provide technical and operational support for the Network's production environment; maintain and enhance the Network's file-based multimedia systems as a subject matter expert; oversee content capture, transcoding and delivery workflows; and work with vendors to troubleshoot issues and identify emerging technologies. Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include: Support, maintain, and monitor existing transcode operations on Telestream Vantage Clusters. Support and build workflows for partner deliveries from planning to execution. Support and maintain video archive solutions, including but not limited to Diva Support for MLB Network's Media Asset Management systems (Diamond). Design and support editorial and file-based workflow solutions for Operations and MLB Network Production. Contribute to applicable technical design within the Production facility. Other such duties as required. Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate must have most if not all of the following skills and experiences: The position requires 3-5 years of hands-on experience in digital video processing. Previous experience with Telestream Vantage and Adobe software products and supporting software applications is preferred. Knowledge of video codecs and transcoding solutions for multi-media and web applications. Knowledge of XML, JSON, Powershell and batch file scripting. Working knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Knowledge of edit systems, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects preferred. Working awareness of VMWare/Virtual Machines, IT networks and SAN environments. Experience with file delivery acceleration software like Aspera and Signiant. Basic knowledge of computer programming concepts. Knowledge of Media Asset Management systems. Must be able to analyze complex workflow issues and make recommendations. Ability to work well in a live broadcast network environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to create innovative processes. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented, meticulous and able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work independently yet strong collaboration skills are required. This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can interface with a diverse group of people and situations. This position requires the ability to prioritize and to be a proactive thinker. Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in the pressurized environment of live television. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Possess the manual dexterity to effectively operate keyboard/mouse on computers, edit equipment, etc. Possess the visual acuity needed to effectively deliver required work product. Possess the auditory acuity needed to effectively deliver required work product. Ability to sit, stand or twist for sufficient lengths of time to effectively deliver required work product. Ability to travel occasionally. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT/ Technical Communications experience. Work Classification: Flextime: Employee permitted to work remotely 40% of the week, with the days in the office determined by the manager of the individual employee. Work Classifications may be changed or modified at any time by the Company.
