This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be situated in the areas surrounding Charleston, WV. Candidates with 3 - 5 years' Project Management and Leadership experience within Construction, Vegetation Management, Landscape Management, Environmental Services, Finance, and/or Safety/Compliance industries helpful. Coach, train and lead to build strong future leaders. Work closely with the Managers and fellow Supervisors to ensure the same vision is communicated throughout region and amongst teams. Being innovative and thinking of a different way to achieve goals and approach business responsibilities. Manage prompt response to phone calls and emails from team members, business partners and stakeholders. Manage and maintain excellent customer relationship with APCo (Appalachian Power Company), business partners, other customers, stakeholders, et cetera. Planning, forecasting and understanding what APCo business needs may be within a 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year period with intent to develop a strategy to overdeliver services before asked by APCo. Develop meeting agendas and lead or attend operations and safety meetings. Conduct various presentations to large groups both in person or via TEAMS. Analyzing and problem solving and coordinating daily business challenges. Manage logistics utilizing the TEAMS platform and designing spreadsheets to utilize. Promote and earn trust and transparency in your team and with the customer. Analyze and understand cost, sales, profits, and losses. Manage projections for FTEs and cash flows. Assist in estimates and change orders. Recruiting and hiring future project managers and general forepersons. Work closely with other Region 442 Supervisors on staffing and equipment. Ensure and facilitate continuous professional growth of you and your team members. Operates under general standards set by the Manager and makes short- and long-term decisions at the local level which align with Region and Company strategy. Manages major events, such as major storms, wildfires, safety violations, and incidents. Provides oversight and mentors General Forepersons. Deals with complex and difficult issues with customers and public entities escalated from subordinates. Reviews and approves invoices and purchase orders from subordinates. Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition. Supports the development, evaluation and implementation of new methods for line clearance and vegetation management in compliance with applicable regulations and standards, as well as APCo tactical and strategic objectives. Ensures vegetation management objectives are achieved through the development of project plans, providing clear direction to staff and closely managing resources. The ability to work in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities, where deadlines need to be met and work is performed under pressure while involving significant business commitments and results. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older High School Diploma or GED 3 - 5 years' experience functioning in the capacity of a Supervisor, Manager, or Project Manager managing complex business operations. Intermediate/Advanced experience using (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, TEAMS, etc.) Ability to safely drive an approved company vehicle. Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc.) Ability to obtain ISA Certification within six months of starting Ability to complete and pass pre-hire drug screen, background, and MVR check Desired: Proficiency with MS Access or other database management software Bachelor's degree in job-related discipline (Business, Finance, Project Management, etc.) 7 years job related experience 5 years leadership experience ISA Certification and/or Certified Utility Specialist Certification Physical Requirements: RARE (less than 10%): squatting, depth-perception, color-vision, crawling, pushing, pulling, seeing distant, climbing ladders, balancing, gripping OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, sense-of-touch, manual-dexterity, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., climbing stairs, carrying, lifting, range-of-motion, reaching FREQUENT (up to 66%): standing, walking, sitting CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): seeing, reading, hearing-speech-range, speaking clearly Safety: Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous time a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate & handle confrontations professionally.
