Attend Green Team meetings to take meeting minutes and coordinate team action items.Support projects related to the collection of internal sustainability data and metrics.Compile and present this data in reports, specifically the Impact Report and the Conservation and Science annual report, and other formats to communicate findings.Continued maintenance and analysis of data for most up to date reports.Maintain records of sustainability initiatives, progress, and results.Conduct site assessments including but not limited to indoor recycling bin audit, outdoor recycling bin audit, compost bin audit, asset inventorying, etc.Map locations for each assessment type and record the data via park maps or floor plans where applicable.Coordinate the Zoo’s Plastic Free Ecochallenge event, responsibilities including but are not limited to:Working with the Zoo’s communications team to review, edit, and update materials including sponsorship packets, platform text, communications, email correspondence, and other identified items related to PFEC.Provide support in sponsor solicitation to include emails and/or phone calls.Update action items and provide updated content for the PFEC website.Serve as the Zoo’s team captain during the event with responsibilities to include posting a minimum of twice weekly, encouraging participants and supporting the team’s efforts.Upon completion of the PFEC event, work with Ecochallenge to provide a program evaluation or report.At a minimum, pursuing an undergraduate degree in sustainability or environmental field or other relevant disciplines or one year of relevant paid experience.Demonstrates keen interests and knowledge in key sustainability issues and frameworks, standards, and rating methodologies.Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in ExcelStrong communication and writing skills; ability to present findings in a thoughtful and concise manner.Experience collecting and analyzing data.Self-motivated, proactive, and committed.Other Requirements:Able to provide excellent guest service by positively interacting with guests and upholding the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards required.Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Ability to plan and organize work in an efficient and cost-effective manner and without direct supervision required.Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all Columbus Zoo Family of Parks team members and contacts regarding company business required.Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures including but not limited to safety protocols required.This position is not eligible for overtime pay.Flexible schedule with availability for evenings and weekends.Ability to adhere to drug-free workplace policies and complete an annual criminal background check.Hours: A minimum of 20-40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, weekends as needed.
