An HVACR Instructor will be responsible for the effective training of the HVACR Technician curriculum in the classroom and laboratory setting. Conducting class room and shop training utilizing proper instructional techniques, practices and following approved curriculumUtilize equipment and training aids in daily lessonsOrder required supplies and tools Report all damaged or missing instructional equipment Ensure that classroom and shop areas are kept clean and orderlyStore all unused training aids and supplies in approved areasMaintain student attendance and grade rostersPrepare class lessons and test in a timely mannerDesign training aids and mock-ups in area of instructor expertiseAdminister tests and make-up tests per MIAT procedures manualConduct make-up classes as scheduledEnsure that students follow all established policies, procedures and safety practicesEnsure that a professional training environment is maintained in the classroom and shop areas at all timesOther duties as assigned Education and ExperienceEducation: High school diploma or equivalentExperience: 4+ yrs practical work experience (excludes teaching) Skills and AbilitiesAbility to teach students of various ages and diverse backgrounds Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students and new employeesStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsMust be able to deal responsibly with confidential informationGood working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel required)Must be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientationMust be self-motivatedMust be able to work alone or with a team Performance StandardsInstructors will be evaluated on their ability to promote and implement the objective of the schoolAssure that the curriculum is adhered to, and delivered with motivation and enthusiasmProper monitoring of all equipment, supplies and tools to ensure the safety of the studentsEnsure that student morale is maintained at a high levelMaintain control of the classroom and handle student day to day issuesMaintain a good standing on student and lab equipment evaluationsAll internal and external reports and forms have been accurately completed and submitted in a timely fashionMaintain an annual average of 95% student retentionInstructor evaluations will be done twice a year by managementInstructors evaluations will be done by students every quarterWorking ConditionsMajority of time spent in education environmentWork will consist an 8-hour day, 75% teaching and 25% administrationAppropriate safety measures must be followedExposure to chemicals that are standard to the industry#INS
