Job Description: Title: Director, Content Licensing Market Data Management Reports To: Global Content Licensing Director Department: Partners & Licensing This individual plays a key role in the success of the Content Licensing - Market Data team's objectives to provide high quality cost-effective market data strategic planning, vendor selection, vendor management, service provisioning, financial reporting, and inventory/cost review and control. In this role, the Director, Content Licensing Market Data Management will facilitate vendor and business strategy management guiding efforts with internal business units and market data vendors. Specifically, the Director, Content Licensing Market Data Management will work in partnership with the Market Date Operations, Market Data Engineering, Dow Jones Business Units, Procurement and critical market data vendors to foster alignment between Dow Jones's business unit needs and vendor products, services, and activities. This responsibility extends to developing vendor and business unit market data objectives and strategies. Primary Responsibilities Cultivate strong relationships with Market Data Operations, Market Data Engineering and Dow Jones Business Units to understand and provide thought leadership for evolving market data vendor needs. Work closely with teams to advise on business unit market data consumption patterns and spend to align with market data vendors and product selections. Exemplary relationship management skills, helping to retain and increase current group of vendors, business units and market data personnel to improve partnerships, continuously keeping our partners up to date on Dow Jones and new opportunities to grow together Promote, leverage and ensure effective utilization of market data services by establishing vendor communications with business units and providing visibility to vendors and across Dow Jones on the quality and operational effectiveness of market data vendors. Lead efforts to benchmark and improve vendor performance. Manage vendor strategy meetings to effectively communicate vendor updates, build consensus and drive value-added business solutions to conclusion. Provide enterprise visibility and drive vendor strategic direction/prioritization on vendor pipeline offerings. Establish a vendor management capability that improves alignment between vendor activities and Dow Jones cross-departmental business needs to meet business unit goals. Collaborate with peer market data practitioners to create detailed project plans for vendor evaluations, trials and implementations. Work with the market data administration team and procurement to establish workflow processes to ensure appropriate reconciliation for vendor payments and contract negotiations, including effective approaches to investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies and lead vendor discussions to improve vendor performance. This will also include effective management of the Market Data budget. You will be responsible for the management and development of Content Licensing Associate, working collaboratively on an in region growth and acquisition plan territory plan Education and Experience BA/BS desired 10+ years market data experience and vendor management, including compliance and policy enforcement; with familiarity in real-time, end-of-day and derived data use cases. Prior experience and strong knowledge of market data vendors, industry products and best practices in market data vendor management. Skills and Knowledge Ability to work creatively and collaboratively with a diverse group of vendors, business units and market data personnel to improve acquisition, ongoing management and support processes. Ability to analyze complex policy data (contracts and agreements, fee schedules, new rule announcements, etc.) to identify adjustments to current systems and processes. Passion, curiosity and a desire to understand customer and vendor businesses. Detailed knowledge of market data content including all asset types (Equity, FI, derivatives, etc.) and content types (real time pricing, news, fundamental & reference data, terminal products,etc.) Exemplary communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Proven experience in business negotiations and internal/external relationship management Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff and management.
