As a Cook, you play a crucial role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals that contribute to our residents' overall dining experience and satisfaction.Specific Tasks/Duties:Food Preparation:Prepare food daily according to menus using standardized recipes.Adapt recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or enhance flavor.Ensure proper plate presentation and garnish food attractively.Serve appropriate condiments with meals.Service Coordination:Coordinate and participate in the service line during meal times.Monitor portion control to meet residents' requests and minimize waste.Sanitation and Maintenance:Maintain cleanliness in work areas, adhering to sanitation guidelines.Ensure cleanliness of coolers, freezers, and storage rooms.Follow FIFO guidelines for food storage and labeling.Attendance and Participation:Attend all required departmental and community meetings, in-services, or trainings.Relationship Building:Build positive relationships with residents, employees, and coworkers.Compliance:Adhere to all company policies and procedures.Additional Duties:Perform other duties as assigned.Mission/Values:Supports and upholds the Mission and Values of the Community, promoting them positively in all business interactions.Respects and safeguards the confidentiality of information regarding residents, coworkers, and the facility.Projects a professional and caring demeanor in all interactions.Takes responsibility for maintaining a clean and orderly environment.Demonstrates teamwork and respect for others.Takes ownership of job responsibilities and problem resolution.Anticipates and meets the needs of residents and coworkers.Welcomes suggestions and new ideas for improvement.Position Requirements:Education: High school diploma or equivalent (some college or culinary school preferred).Experience: One to three years of residential or commercial cooking experience (experience in a geriatric environment preferred).Certifications: Food Handlers Certificate preferred; ServSafe Managers Certification preferred.Essential Functions:Working Conditions: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.Physical Demands: Must be able to perform various physical tasks related to cooking and kitchen maintenance.Mental Acuity: Ability to read, interpret documents, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.Sensory Requirements: Must have adequate sensory abilities to perform job duties effectively.Benefits:Brand new, beautiful kitchen and state of the art appliances.Collaborative team environmentGenerous PTO plan401kMedical/Dental/Vision BenefitsAbility to make a difference in the lives of our residents every day.& more!Note: This job description is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and requirements for the Cook position at CopperWood.
