RN - Supervisor - Procedural ServicesAllen Hospital -Waterloo, IA1st shift, 8am-4:30p, flex as needed.Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the care provided on the patient care departments(s), which is consistent with the established strategic plan, goals and objectives for Patient Care Services. Responsible for daily operations of the patient care department. Supports optimal care that requires specialized knowledge, critical thinking and skills based on principles of psychological, social, physical, and biological sciences that utilize the nursing process. Demonstrates the attributes of Servant Leadership, communicates exceptionally, and motivates others to achieve outcomes through work with multidisciplinary teams. Serves as advisor to the Director regarding recruitment and retention for department and works in collaboration with nursing leadership to identify areas of improvement regarding practice, policies and processes. Adheres to governmental regulations. Recommends annual goals and objectives.Responsible for the daily staffing of the unit to facilitation of orientation program and training of newly hired team members, and team member performance management.Reviews/reassigns patient assignments based on assignment workload manager (if applicable), continuity and skill level of the team member. Coordinates scheduling and maintains appropriate staffing levels and effectively communicates with others to ensure staffing requirements are met. Assists Educator in planning staff education/in-services/specialized skilled training programs including competencies.Assists Director in resolving complex unit situations, such as patient complaints and crises as they occur within the unit.Employee DevelopmentEvaluates and guides staff through coaching and provides immediate feedback and responds to difficult inquiries and problems. Demonstrates the ability to fairly and consistently interpret, apply and follow personnel policies/procedures. Provides feedback and input to team members for ongoing performance management.Completes and issues performance evaluations. Responsible for team member rounding.Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with completion within two years of hire date. Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred. Experience:Minimum of three year’s operating room experience as a registered nurse. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Proven teaching expertise preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.Certified Nurse Operating Room within one year of hire.Advance certifications per specialty preferred. Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
