We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team.As the Career Advisor, you assess court-ordered participants enrolled in the JCCP program and determine the most appropriate path to employment. You will provide support and assistance in all areas related to paying child support, gaining and/or retaining employment, and career advancement.Successful Elements:Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunitiesProvide participants with information on program compliance and the consequences of non-complianceDetermine eligibility and accurately complete required documentation for enrollmentBuild professional one-on-one working relationships with customers to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to paying child support, and obtaining and retaining employmentProvide referrals to appropriate SLATE services, business services unit, online learning centers and community service or social service agencies when neededConvince customers to participate in and follow through with planned activities as outlined in contract with funding agencyOversee customer activities and assist with workshop schedulesTrack all customer activities including SLATE services, ITAs, and other initiativesCreate solutions to customer attendance problemsMaintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contactsMaintain accurate individual case files for each registered customer, ensuring each contain appropriate eligibility documentsGuide jobseekers through preparation of individual employment plans based on their specific occupational goalsMaintain customer files as specified by contractorShare information with appropriate staff and/or funding agenciesProvide consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up and retention services, ensuring that post-placement contacts are made as required by specific contract, accommodating customer work schedules Document all participant contacts and activities in case progress notesAssist in the preparation of project reports as neededEnsure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contractWork with the team on implementing processes that increase customer engagementConduct program orientations Other duties as assigned Required Experience and Education: Career counseling experienceAbility to prioritize tasks and document visits and contactsDemonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skillsAbility to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor requiredBachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree, and three years of work experience in case management/human services or related experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsMust have a valid driver’s license Bring your expertise to EDSI where you will be able to live our values every day: Show Up, Smile and Support!
