We are currently recruiting to fill the following position:PRIDE IndustriesJob DescriptionJob: Wave Solder TechnicianJob Code: 991 - PR-Wave Solder TechHR Title Group: Electronics ManufacturingSalary Grade: N16FLSA Status: Non-ExemptApproval Date: August 2017SUPERVISES: There are no direct reports with this position.POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Wave Solder Technician solders printed circuit board assemblies (PCBs) using a wave solder machine. Employees in this job class create and analyze temperature profiles, create and confirm wave solder recipes that conform to IPC-610 standards, set-up and maintain various foaming flux baths to proper specifications, perform pre-wave and post-wave inspections of PCBs for defects, wash PCBs using an incline cleaner, and perform general machine maintenance. This job class requires knowledge of wave solder assembly, proper use and disposal of hazardous materials (lead), and the ability to work with precision, accuracy and attention to detail.TYPICAL DUTIES:1.*Prepares and processes PCB’s through the wave solder machine. Inspects the PCB’s for defects pre and post wave and corrects any defects prior to delivery for assembly process.2.*Analyzes, documents, and monitors temperature profiles for wave soldering using “Side-Kic” oven profiling technology to assure PCB’s are free of defects.3.*De-panels PCBs that are processed using a multi-board format.4.*De-drosses or removes contaminates from the top of solder pots.5.*Performs light cleaning and maintenance of wave solder equipment.6.*Follows appropriate hazardous material practices in the handling and disposal of lead used in the wave solder process.7.*Updates and maintains Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) binder for the department.8.Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.* Denotes Essential Job FunctionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:•One year of experience in electronic manufacturing or assembly;•Familiarity with specialized departmental equipment including soldering tools and techniques, wave soldering equipment, and oven profiling techniques;•Knowledge of the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials and waste (lead), and Cal OSHA and OSHA regulations;•Knowledge of various electronic components and their values;•Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests;•Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English; •Computer literacy to use business software, the Internet, enter data/retrieve data;•Human relations skills to build effective working relationships;•Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or GEDTechnical/other trainingCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:Not ApplicablePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:• Utilizing keyboard • Viewing computer monitor and detailed work requiring close vision• Assembling small parts requiring manual dexterity • Lifting and moving boxes or equipment up to 25 poundsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with forklifts and production equipment.
