Now hiring full-time 32 hour/week Teaching Assistant to work with preschool children in special education intergated classroom program located at the Cortland location preschool. Should have your teaching assistant certification or working towards it. Flexibility , openess and a love of children a must.Racker offers a competitive rate and school program calendar."¯Our competitive benefits include health insurance, and time for continuing education, retirement investment with employer match, paid vacation for school holidays and breaks, paid sick time, and a 20% discount on childcare services for children of full time staff hours weekly.Pay Rate $17.25.Essential Duties:§Provide support for the individual children in the assigned classroom as well as for the general needs of the classroom, with the supervision and leadership of the classroom teacher.Provide direct care support to children i.e. toileting, feeding, dressing lifting and positioningAssist teacher with the program planning and implementation of IEP’s, for the classroom as a whole and/or for an individual childReview IEP and relevant information concerning the children in the program with the classroom teacher in order to support the implementation of the instructional and social-emotional development of the childrenParticipate in multidisciplinary treatment team to provide continued support for carry over skill developmentAccept feedback/guidance from the classroom teacher and site directorFunction effectively as a member of the team through collaboration, utilizing a positive and professional approachParticipate in all appropriate meetings and provide input on classroom children, in addition attend weekly team meetingsComplete personal and program record keeping as assignedCollect student data as neededCommunicate professionally with families per directions of the classroom teacherCarry out necessary tasks for keeping the classroom running smoothly in the absence of the special education teacherContribute to a positive work and learning environment through professional courteous and confidential behaviorAttend training required by program regulations, including OCFS regulations, and as directed by supervisorUphold standards of professionalism with regard to behavior and dressOther duties as assignedHigh school diploma or GEDTeaching Assistant Certification or in process of obtaining certificationExperience working in a special education and leading a classroom preferred, but not required.Our approach to Diversity and Inclusion -'A world where all people know they belong.'
