In this role, the successful candidate Together Growing Strong (TGS) is an initiative within The Department of PopulationHealth in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine that aims to strengthen earlychildhood health and wellbeing by supporting families, providers, and educators inSunset Park, Brooklyn. The initiative uses an anti-racist approach, and is led by a core team of senior faculty in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine as well as the Vice President for Community programming in the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone Brooklyn (FHC). We are seeking a Project Coordinator to part of the Community, Activities, Resources, Education (CARE) Team. This team develops and disseminates early childhood development content via a digital messaging program and community workshops, implements playgroups and read-alouds, and holds events for the community. The Project Coordinators tasks will include engaging with schools in Sunset Park, working closely with the CARE Team on all activities, and collaborating with formative research efforts, as necessary. The Project Coordinator will also have administrative responsibilities for the overall TGS initiative.Job Responsibilities:Project Coordination: Coordinate, plan and contribute to numerous CARE Team activities:Help expand our work in the education space by meeting and developing relationships with school principals, preschool leaders, and teachers;Engage school principals, preschool leaders, and staff with the TGS formative research and education systems work;Identify key issues for schools, families, and children in Sunset Park and coordinate efforts to address them using a strength-based approach;Communicate CARE Team events to school principals, preschool leaders, teachers and families;Support the CARE Team in-person and remote events and activities;Support TGS administrative needs, including scheduling meetings, arranging events, purchasing items.Develop and maintain relationships with all aspects of community in Sunset Park, including parents, Family Health Center programs, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, educators, early childhood caregivers, and both social service and healthcare providers;Participate in team meetings and supervision;Complete other activities as requested.Reports: Plans, outlines, and prepares reports for ongoing projects, including TGS annual reports and grant-required reports.Additional Tasks:Develop and maintain relationships with all aspects of community in Sunset Park, including parents, Family Health Center programs, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, educators, early childhood caregivers, and both social service and healthcare providers;Participate in team meetings and supervision;Complete other activities as requested.Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field. Two years of experience coordinating Project/Programs or programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience engaging with different cultures and community groups, and including community voice in decision-making processes.Knowledge of the preschool and/or elementary school field preferred.Previous experience with and continued interest in working with children and families, and with populations of color.Ability to collaborate with multiple community groups.Effective verbal and written skills, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Detail-oriented, conscientious, with strong organizational skills.Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills. Ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a large team. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00-$74,200.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
