The ECECT will engage in positive and professional parent/child/staff relationships. The ECECT will keep records and complete reports which ensure that standards of excellence are maintained. Perform related duties as assigned.The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, school age care, child development or other child-related field; will consider individuals with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education currently working towards a bachelor’s degree. A minimum of one year on the job training in providing a nurturing indoor/outdoor environment and meeting the child’s out of home needs. Candidate must have one plus years of experience under qualified supervision working as a teacher serving the ages and developmental abilities of the children in care. Candidate will be required to have a valid certificate in pediatric first aid, including CPR. Thorough knowledge of normal child development and early childhood education, as well as knowledge of indicators that a child is not developing typically. The ability to respond appropriately to children’s needs in addition to the ability to recognize signs of illness and safety/injury hazards and respond with prevention interventions. This position requires effective oral and written communication skills. Sound judgment and emotional maturity is requisite. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
