The program support coordinator's overall purpose is to create a foundation and infrastructure for the transgender and gender non"conforming health program at University Hospital, including medical, surgical, legal, behavioral and financial services. This person will be the support coordinator of the transgender health program as well as an advocate for the program within University Hospital and the greater community. The Program Support Coordinator (Transgender) will assist with the planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of the Transgender / Gender non"conforming Program. As a member of the team, the Program Support Coordinator assists with the implementation of evidenced based practice both within the office and hospital settings in collaboration with the Physicians, Physician Assistants, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Inpatient Nurse Manager, Patient Navigators, and other team members. The Program Support Coordinator collaborates with the patient, family, physician, and interdisciplinary team to plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor the provision of quality and efficacious health care services and resources to promote optimal clinical, financial, and satisfactory outcomes. Oversees the Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program with Centers of Excellence for transgender health.Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field required. Four (4) years of experience working in a health care environment required Current license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Social Worker registered in NJ required. Must have experience working with Transgender patients. Knowledge of WPATH (World Professional Association of Transgender Health) standards. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate issues as well as monitor and follow up on outstanding items. This role requires leadership skills and the ability to function in the clinical, administrative, and financial environments. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement on a year for year basis.Credentials required: Bachelor’s Degree, Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the NJ State Board of Nursing or Current Certified Social Worker registered in NJPrimary source verification: NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, Board of Nursing, NJ Office of the Attorney General Division of Consumer Affairs, University Hospital’s designated Background Check CompanyPhysical Demands: The position will, daily be required to see colors, hear voice and phone, speak, sit, walk, lift, and communicate in English both verbally and in writing; required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; operate telephone, computer, office, and other electronic equipment; and must be able to lift 40 pounds on an occasional basis.Work Environment: The position will, on a routine and daily basis, be required to work in a quiet to mildly noisy office environment, and to work with and around electronic and communications equipment during standard business hours.
