LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client growing company in Tacoma, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.Position Summary:The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This role is essential to ensuring that the company's financial obligations are met, and it requires a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a good understanding of accounting principles.Key Responsibilities:Invoice Processing:Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports.Match invoices to purchase orders and ensure proper approvals are obtained.Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system.Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.Payment Processing:Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments (EFTs), checks, and wire payments.Monitor discount opportunities, verify federal ID numbers, and schedule payment runs.Maintain vendor files and ensure that payments are applied accurately and timely.Vendor Management:Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and other related questions.Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with vendors and internal departments.Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.Record Keeping:Maintain and update accounts payable records and files.Assist in month-end closing by reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger.Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports as pliance:Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulations.Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for accounts payable transactions.Qualifications:Education:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.Experience:2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.Skills:Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
