Won’t you join us?Have the necessary skills, and ability to perform all job functions within the Operator II job classification (Baler, Crane, Slitter, Lift Truck, Bun Lines, Roll Line, Tester, Slab Wrapper, Band saw).Be flexible in job assignments that may change several times a dayClimb up stationary ladder 25’ to crane and climb down emergency rope ladderRead, understand, and comprehend orders and written communication so as to determine style, compound, and quantities using basic math for ordering, verifying, measuring and counting. Use tape measure reading 16ths.Ensure trailers wheels are chocked. Raise/ lower dock plates. Hook/ unhook hydraulic hoses. Carry pressure and locking bars and lock into proper place in trailer. Raise squeeze doors from floor to vertical position. Clean out trailers.Load and unload trailers as required (i.e. buns, bales, etc, with lift and by hand) and transport within plantUnload baler and stack bales.Pull buns from inventory based on schedule/order and return to inventory. Pull tickets from buns.Accurately and legibly complete required paperwork and report any deficienciesLoad and stack product into carts to heights above headCut fiber/foam on saw, bag and transport product using various means, carrying, push scrap carts and buggiesOperate lift truck on production floor and load and unload trailers safely; Change propane tankDetermine and draw layout using nesting techniques for best foam utilization. Obtain patterns from rack and re-hangTransport foam, place onto machine, cut, unload, write pertinent information on cut product and place in staging area.Change blades as required. Break down rails, string tie part as necessaryAccurately and legibly complete required paperwork. Use Contour Book to determine schedule to run and use keyboardRun several machines simultaneously by utilizing efficiencies based on machine cycle timesCut foam/fiber of all types, styles, & size (e.g. Pattern, straight rail) on Auto vertical, bandsaw, and contour machinesTransport foam, place onto machine, cut, unload, write pertinent information on cut product and place in staging area.Change blades as required. Break down rails, string tie part as necessaryInspect buns for tears, splits, and defects, and plan the cutting of each bun to obtain maximum yield.Use discretion when accepting/rejecting foam to be cutMake blade and adjustments on cutting units to specified dimensions. Activate blades and conveyors from consolesCheck dimensions of material being cut for conformance to cutting instructions and standard allowancesGenerate and/or affix bun tickets to buns and record production figures. Enter order information into computer terminalCheck continuously for proper equipment conditions and notify supervisor immediately of any operational concernsFollow lockout/tagout (LOTO) proceduresLoad scrap into carts and take to/from grinder roomUsing hand saw, cut 50 foot side strips into manageable handling widthsPerform monthly roll inventoryRoll up flat sheet stock while sitting, tie with string and throw roll over the head to the floor for loadingRetrieve full scrap carts, remove scrap foam from carts, buggies, floor, place into balerSet machine settings, operate baling unit, tie bales, remove from unit using lift truck and complete paperworkTake responsibility for and keep abreast of all changes in product and process. Know how to check for quality problems and where to find the answers. Know the quality standards of the products we produce.Promote and support an environment of cooperation.Take direction from multiple supervision and leaders.Work independently under general direction to set priorities, manage workload, meet deadlines, and accomplish goals even under changing deadlines and with multiple interruptions in order to achieve the highest productivity.Anticipate and act to remove obstacles that are likely to affect this or other jobs in a negative way and find simpler, faster, and less costly ways to produce results while maintaining high quality.Sufficient endurance is required to perform the tasks assigned over long periods of time and assigned work hours ie. 12 hours/day and 6 days/wk are required to meet customer driven workloads at various timesHelp encourage and maintain good housekeeping, sweeping, emptying trash, etc.Assist production supervision as required#LI-Onsite
