Job ID: 672839BR Date posted: Aug. 09, 2024 Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is looking to hire a Surface Treatment Inspector to support our Archbald, PA site. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following: Performing all types of tests such as microscopic checks, thickness tests of plated and painted coatings, PH readings, adhesion tests, hardness tests, tensile tests and perform related functions such as mixing reagents and preparing samples. Performing calibration of production equipment, such as ovens and aqueous washer. Responsible for mixing and dispensing specialized chemical coatings and performing touch-up of surface treatment when necessary. Will be responsible for maintenance of all laboratory equipment and supplies in order to conduct all tests and perform such analysis as required. Must be capable of performing various mechanical inspections of raw material and in-process machining. Must have a thorough knowledge of math and blueprint readings/interpretation. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures. May be required to train or assist in training new personnel in all types of inspection. May be required to maintain communication with outside vendors for specific tasks. Must have a thorough knowledge of the correct procedures to follow and precautions to take when performing their work in order to prevent damage to equipment and/or material and injury to self and/or others. Must be able to properly document in a neat and legible manner all types of errors or discrepancies found. May be required to participate during internal and external audits as required May be required to participate during internal and external audits as required. Maintains records of results. Physical condition allowing:a) Lifting 50 poundsb) Standing, sitting, bending, walking, 10+ hours per dayc) Personal protective equipment including Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and wearing a respirator when required. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications: 5 years, formal education in experience/combined education, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks Must be able to read blueprint, work instructions and interpret engineering drawing requirements Proficient computing literacy Demonstrated ability to use basic measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers Knowledge of MIL standards Must be able to demonstrate good training skills and effectively apply them to peers. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, with both internal and external customers Experience working successfully in a team environment Must be able to support a flexible work schedule supporting overtime, off-Fridays, weekends, and/or alternate shifts to support product schedules as required Must be able to pass visual acuity and color perception exam Must be able to obtain a Government Secret security clearance US CitizenDesired Skills: Experience working in various fabrication areas and/or previous inspection experience. Demonstrated computer skills areas of LM tools including SAP, Apriso, Command Media, PAL and Windchill. Navigating SAP/Apriso in areas concerning confirmations, reviewing characteristics, and Nonconformances. Technical writing for documenting issues on rejection paperwork.
