ABOUT THE POSITIONWater Resources Project Manager | Providence, RI (Hybrid)VHB’s Water Resources group is growing across New England, and we're looking for aProject Manager/ Water Resources Engineer to join its dynamic team of Water Resource engineers and water quality specialists. In this position you will assist our clients with developing strategic, cost-effective, and forward-thinking solutions to their water resource, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental challenges. You will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from site to watershed scale. Projects may include stormwater designs, bridge hydraulics and scour, stream restorations, flood mitigation and management, and coastal resiliency.ResponsibilitiesIdentify both short-term deadlines, deliverables, and tasks as well as long-term client goalsTrack budgets, schedules, staff availability, and ensure internal and external intermediate and final deadlines are metAssist with identifying and pursuing new clients and leverage existing relationships to continue to provide valuable services to VHB's existing clientsAssist clients with stormwater regulatory compliance and initiatives to develop comprehensive approaches that are efficient and sustainableConduct, or lead staff who are conducting, a wide array of water resources related studies and analysisSupport related water resources work such as integrated water resources planning, resiliency planning, watershed management and stormwater control planning, stormwater master planning, and NPDES permitting-related tasksPrepare reports for stormwater analyses and designsWork within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projectsSkills And AbilitiesSuperior project management skills on water resource projectsFamiliarity with stormwater management design, Low Impact Development/green infrastructure design, floodplain management, storm sewer design, grading, and site designExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsTeam-oriented with strong capability to motivate othersHighly motivated self-starterDetail-oriented and highly organizedSuperior ability to collaboratively problem solve with stakeholders, clients, and teammatesExperience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programsUnderstanding of local, state, and federal permittingQualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resource engineering or related discipline, master’s degree a plusP.E. licensure expected or ability to obtain within 6 months5-8 years of stormwater, water quality, and/or regulatory experience, including project management experience8-11 years of experience preferredExperience supervising or mentoring desiredAutoCAD, and GIS experience strongly desiredWe are VHB!We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
