This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, with three days in our Chicago, IL office and two days from home.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Draft, assemble and issue request for proposal (RFP) packages to suppliers / subcontractors Expedite suppliers / subcontractors / engineering input, as appropriateSupport S&L clients in their procurement processesEvaluate proposals from suppliers / subcontractorsPerform risk assessments on potential and existing subcontractsNegotiate and finalize terms and conditions, including those related to indemnities, warranties, liabilities, pricing, schedule, etc.Create purchase orders in S&L’s internal vender management systemsManage and administer the subcontract life cycle process for assigned projectsMonitor and evaluate contract performanceRecord keeping / document control with audit involvementProcessing vendor invoices for paymentCoordinate and work closely with engineering project managers, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and client personnelWe do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.Essential skills and experience:Bachelor Degree Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and/or contract administrationStrong written, verbal, & people communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with project managers, engineers, clients, suppliers and contractors as necessaryMS Office Suite proficiencyValued but not required skills and experience:Power industry experience supporting large power generation, substation or transmission line projectsCPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or C.P.M (Certified Purchasing Manager) designationExperience with Deltek Costpoint and MS OutlookAt Sargent & Lundy, we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
