GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:Under the general direction of the Senior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs, the Educational Affairs Director is responsible for administration of the Office of Educational Affairs. For the Office of Educational Affairs, the Director will be responsible for staff planning, budget development, supervision of staff, review and analysis of ongoing office activities, compliance with administrative policies and procedures. Under the direction of the Senior Associate Dean, will develop, initiate and monitor policies and procedures relative to the operations and services of the Office of Educational Affairs and its component offices, and will provide operational and administrative oversight and budget management.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct the administration and operations of the Office of Educational Affairs.Manage the coordination of services, facilitate policy interpretation, streamline processes and provide a single point of contact for the Senior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs.Responsible for the management and oversight of all component units reporting to the Office of Educational Affairs as well as other reporting components as they are established.Responsible for administrative and budgetary oversight of all offices reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Educational AffairsDevelop, monitor and analyze all labor, operating and capital expense budgets in component units, and assure appropriateness of human resource allocations to maintain effective work flow and quality control of programs.For reporting offices, review, monitor and advise in operational areas including personnel, capital expenses and operating budgets.Within the Office of Educational Affairs, serve as a liaison on administrative matters to component units reporting to the Office of Educational Affairs.Work closely and collaboratively with Senior Associate Deans leadership team. Oversees and presents information and updates to Senior Associate Deans leadership team as requiredRepresent the Office of Educational Affairs in internal and external meetings, as well as in regional and national forums.Provide functional supervision to the administrative staff working in the Office of Educational Affairs.Oversee administrative staff development and training for the Office of Educational Affairs.Performs other duties as required.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Masters degree in hospital administration, public or business administration or equivalent and 3 years of experience as an academic administrator, business office manager, or administrative positions within a health education facility, including 2-3 years experience in a supervisory position. Excellent oral and written communication skills required for interaction with medical school faculty and staff at all levels.Demonstrated ability to develop formal written reports and deliver this information in a formal presentationExperience with reporting and quality tracking for institutional accreditation purposes (such as JHACO, LCME and NEASC).Experience in budget development, management and implementation, including the development and management of grant budgets.Experience with database software, and with the management of data.Advanced level experience required with computer application packages such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access
