The Engagement Manager of Special Events will be responsible for the growth and development of the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties’ special events. Responsible for creating and executing the development plan for all UWMOC special events; Research, identify and acquire new companies for all special events while securing new and upgrading current sponsors. Special Events Lead and manage all special events inclusive but not limited to United for Impact Golf, United for Impact Food Truck, United for Impact Wine Event and all third-party eventsDevelop a growth plan for all special events by identifying new corporate relationshipsCreate special events budgets based on organizational budget in order to ensure goals are metLead special events committees and recruit members to help insure growth of the eventFollow Best Practices by securing committee chairs for following event year prior to current eventSponsorship SalesRenew all current sponsors for events and create a plan to secure new corporate support to support budget plan and build pipelineFollow Best Practices and renew sponsorship commitments within 90 days post eventWork with VP of Engagement on sponsorship year-round opportunitiesIndividual Donor Engagement Participate in community activities which contribute to the acquisition and retention of individual donorsAssist in the cultivation and management of ongoing relationships with current and prospective donorsKnowledge of:Nonprofit fundraising techniquesTechniques in donor engagement and retentionSpecial event fundraisingSkills in:Special Event managementProject managementPublic speaking and large-scale presentationsStatistical analysisAdministrative supportClient relationship management software, such as Andar/CRM or Greater GivingMicrosoft Office productsAble to:Work flexible hours (evenings and weekends), as requiredForm strong and positive work relationships with diverse groups of peopleTake initiative, work independently and demonstrate leadershipMultitask with an attention to detailCommunicate effectively verbally and in writing; pleasant and personable manner.Organize, prioritize and meet deadlinesHave a team-oriented personality; willingness to help where neededTravel to meetings and event sites throughout Monmouth and Ocean countiesLift cartons or packages in excess of 20 lbs., or to stand or sit for extended periods of timeDrive United Way cargo van; valid NJ Driver’s License with no more than 2 moving violation points requiredEducation and Experience Required:Three to five years of related work experience strongly preferred and a passion for the work of UWMOC; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
