The individual in this position will be responsible for technical functions in support of the Biomedical Engineering Practice and other groups that utilize the lab. Duties will include design and construction of test fixtures, nonstandard testing, and assisting engineers with inspections. The individual in this position will also be responsible for maintaining the laboratory, coordinating the calibration of laboratory equipment, and stocking general purpose lab supplies.Building, conducting and documenting tests using mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systemsPerforming various tasks in a lab environmentMaintaining laboratory equipment and toolsParticipating in keeping the facility cleanTwo or more years of experience working in a biomedical engineering lab or equivalent AA degree or equivalent technical experienceExcellent verbal communications skills.Fabrication, plumbing, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Hands-on skills ability to operate common construction and machine tools (lathe, mill, band saw, etc.).Solid modeling or computer aided design experience.Demonstrated dedication to quality and accuracy as well as the ability to work well independentlyMust be versatile, team-oriented, willing to work overtime, and travel as neededUnderstanding quality management systems (e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 9001 or equivalent)The ideal candidate for this position would hold an A.S. or B.S. degree.
