Under the supervision of providers and nurses, and in collaboration with caregivers, patients, and families, provide the highest quality of care and treatment for all patients. Assist providers with patient care and procedures, documenting in an electronic medical record (EMR). Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic. Communicate with patients via phone and electronic portal regarding test results, surgery schedules, procedures and follow-up directions under supervision and within scope. This lead role requires close collaboration with the practice leadership team and providers. This role will serve as Train the Trainer, evaluate and sign off peers clinical competencies, and facilitate the orientation and onboarding of new staff. In collaboration with management, will schedule staff. Manage clinical inventory, ensure maintenance of clinical equipment, and order supplies. May facilitate quality improvement initiatives and represent practice on committees.Equal to completion of four years of high school or equivalent plus specialized courses and training.Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent medical office practice experience, is required.Three (3) years of medical assistant experience at Southcoast Health is required.Prior experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or health-related computer software is preferred.Fluent in a language other than English and Medical Interpreting is desirable.Other certifications based on practice specialty may be desirable.National third-party Medical Assistant certification, such as AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA (NHA certification), or NCMA (NCCT certification) is required.BLS required.Other certifications, based on practice specialty may be preferred.Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.USD $17.32 - USD $29.12 /Hr.
