The Payroll Director is responsible for all aspects of the payroll operation to include oversite of the payroll team, accurate and timely processing of payroll, reporting and tax filings. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service.This is position is based in Scottsdale, AZ and reports to the Executive Vice President, Finance.Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Director:Directs all aspects of payroll processing for company's 35,000 employees who are located at various locations worldwideDesigns short and long-term strategies for continuous improvements in the Company's global payroll operationsLeads the payroll team with an emphasis on developing team members, establishing objectives and overseeing work efforts to accomplish identified business goals/objectives and to support the employees' career success/developmentEnsures key stakeholders are apprised to any changes in payroll related laws and regulations.Manages relationships with both internal and external customers, including but not limited to, Field General Managers, Vice Presidents of Operations, Finance, external auditors, and state and federal agencies.Collaborates with members of the Human Resources and Business Systems teams to drive operational excellenceEstablishes and maintains department goals through the creation and monitoring of reports and key performance indicatorsJob Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: Thorough understanding of all aspects of payroll processingIn-depth knowledge of all payroll state and federal regulationsProficiency with UKG (preferred) and/or payroll modules of tier one HRIS systemsExperience performing payroll integrations from mergers and acquisitionsPrior payroll data analysis and reporting experience. Analysis and deductive reasoning skillsKnowledge of accounting & financial payroll terms and analysisStrong interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsStrong analytical/problem solving and process management skillsEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree and 10+ years related HR/payroll experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceFour to six years prior supervisory experienceCertificates/Licenses: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Senior/Professional in Human Resources (SPHR/PHR) preferred
