We believe we can succeed in that mission by being the BEST provider for our clients, the BEST partner for manufacturers, the BEST company for our employees, and the BEST investment for our current and future shareholders.The OpportunityWe are seeking experienced HVAC Field Technicians with the ability to travel to customer sites to start up, commission, troubleshoot and repair the equipment we represent. This position requires the capability to work independently, and candidates should have strong diagnostic skills. Requires the ability to manage projects for start-up commissioning and coordination of personnel and services. This is a full-time opportunity for an energetic self-starter. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. The position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, Service Coordinators and customers. This position of Field Technician for our Critical Systems Solutions division is focused on support our equipment sales to data centers. Fundamental Functions & Responsibilities:Manage projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervisionCoaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionalsFace difficult and sometimes complex opportunities; takes a perspective to provide solutionsStart-up, commission, and support BMS on equipment we representPerform factory start-up, commissioning, warranty service on Data Center equipment and systems we represent.Performs electrical and mechanical inspections on equipment to ensure peak performanceAbility to interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s)Represents the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors and ownersSuggest additional services that are beneficial to customerWorks in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfactionSubmits required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely mannerMust work in a safe manner daily and ensure that all safety measures are always takenPerforms other duties as assignedFlexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as requiredKnowledge & Skills:Ability to apply knowledge of refrigeration, air flow, and theory.Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client groups.Driven with the ability to work both independently and within a team.Effectively communicate and properly describe problems and solutions.Demonstrated technical skills to explain product functionality to customers.Well-developed planning, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills.Proficient computer skills, such as Excel and PowerPoint.Ability to produce clear, timely and concise documentation and have well-developed problem-solving skills.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentAbility to travel substantially within operational region.A flexible schedule may be required.Willingness to work in adverse working conditions The Required ProfileHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust have valid driver’s license with good driving recordMust have current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training plus 5+ years’ experience working as a Service Technician in a commercial environmentOperating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)Electrical knowledge required and EPA Certification, Preferred (i.e. HVAC Journeyman, Master license)Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel andmust regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 poundsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and balance requirements of multiple and varied dutiesOther Skills & AbilitiesLanguage SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.Environmental RequirementsWill be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites dailyPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
