If so, we may have an opportunity for you!TISTA associates enjoy above Industry Healthcare Benefits, Remote Working Options, Paid Time Off, Training/Certification opportunities, Healthcare Savings Account & Flexible Savings Account, Paid Life Insurance, Short-term & Long-term Disability, 401K Match, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Holidays, Military Leave, and much more!Stay Connected:Follow us on LinkedIn for updates on this job and other exciting opportunities.Execute the deployment of simple and some complex IT systems, network hardware and software and ensuring that systems are functioning properly upon installationThe work may involve intermediate periods of walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, moving (up to 50 pounds} computer components and supplies, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitorAssist with equipment inventoryAssist with equipment shippingAssist with staging equipmentActs as a primary liaison with critical persons and/or groups within and outside of the organizationPerforms work on major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the organizationProvides support to the Assistant Chief, Network Field Operations - LAN in coordinating and developing the programs and functions relative to tasking and support for the Staging Center effortsWorks with staff members to develop appropriate responses to equipment Requests and correspondenceAble to create plans encompassing materiel maintenance, distribution, and replacementMust be able to conduct targeted review of status and identify points of risk, and be able to identify alternative strategies for addressing and mitigating riskMust have great, customer-focused, team-oriented communications and consultative skills, be highly accountable, be self-directed and productive with strong work ethic, be willing to show “presence” and availability on IM during business hoursAbility to solve issues that arise on siteAble to deploy and execute based on written and verbal instructionKnowledge of Cisco LAN 9500 and 9300s recommendedFamiliarity with types of cabling, interfaces and accurate connectivity to other devicesAble to evaluate network design and configuration baselines and standardsAble to work at an enterprise level and in cross-functional teams to assist with the development of strategic and enterprise plansTravel will be estimated at the equivalent of about 50% per month per year and engineers must follow VA’s and TISTA’s Travel expense guidelines.Education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or related technical discipline and 5+ years’ work experienceEight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (13 years total)Clearance:The ability to pass a Tier 4/HIGH Background InvestigationLocation:Department of Veteran's Affairs (100% On-site)Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST Time)Landover Staging Center (LSC)7100 Old Landover RdLandover, MD 20785
