Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Manage the General accounting team, which is the primary team responsible for the month-end financial close process, including majority of journal entries, accruals/estimates and account reconciliations Primary owner of master data in PeopleSoft (e.g. partner with Financial Reporting Manager to sync with consolidation (FCCS) and planning (ePBCS) tools) Review/approve higher-risk journal entries. Serves as primary contact with external auditors. Key contributor to identify and realize financial close efficiencies to drive the organization to a faster and more streamlined, accurate financial close process. Handle other responsibilities, as needed, such as project/system implementation support. Requirements: BS in Accounting. CPA (Preferred, but not required). Minimum of 5 years in accounting (or similar) experience with increasing responsibilities directly involved in the financial close process; additional/more senior experience preferred and valued for this role. Large, public company experience preferred Good written and verbal communication skills. A leader who promotes teamwork. Must be able to delegate. Ability to develop a vision of 'what could be', not just focused on 'what is/has been' Demonstrated ability to execute/drive a project plan to completion,; including influencing others and effectively managing their team and others through change. In-depth experience using modern ERP's such as SAP or Oracle, consolidation tools (e.g. FCCS) and financial planning tools (e.g. ePBCS) is preferred Good social skills in dealing with internal personnel, auditors, etc. Pre-Screen Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
