UPM Quality Technician assures that the product supplied to our customers meets the Quality parameters set forth by United Performance Metals and that each shipment conforms to all specified agreed to customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview product certifications for release acceptance or discrepancy resolutionReceive purchased material in Stratix SystemApply and release quality hold status of the product as applicableScan certifications and testing reports into the operating systemProcess and administrate requests for certification updatesConduct inspection of product when required or requestedInspect and resolve questionable material issues involving product integrityAssist with inspection layout, set-up as neededUnderstand and apply measuring techniques with internal operating procedure and equipmentIdentify and quarantine nonconforming materialEnterMaintain vendor rejection reportsProcess and provide follow up for supplier rejectionsMaintain correctivepreventative action systemSchedule QIRTraining meetings with both the Production and Sales Departments as neededSchedule meetings, as needed, to resolve non-conforming and process issuesConduct follow-up actions regarding QIRCustomer Complaints issues until the matter is resolvedIssue ReturnScrap AuthorizationsInvestigate and resolve non-conformitiesAssist with customer quality system requests and approvalsAssist with the quality orientation for new employeesSupport sales with certification and compliance requestsSupport operations and production with order and material-technical needsMaintain AMSUPM specification spreadsheet used to verify the compliance of mill test reportsPerform periodic specification revision checks for updatesOversee the inspection and measuring of test equipmentMaintain identification of the testing equipment and documentation providing traceability and calibration frequencyInitiate and maintain the ongoing assessment and approval of subcontractorsPerform periodic audits of suppliers and subcontractorsResponsible for administration of appropriate customer release programAssist as needed with compliance auditsMaintain required customer approval and certificationFill out and respond to customer survey requestsAssist as needed with customer and regulatory auditsMaintain a full understanding of United Performance Metals' Quality Manual, Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions: How they relate to AMS, ASTM, AISI, AS9100 and ISO-9001 RequirementsContinued education and training of metals applications, industry requirements, and customer focus activitiesGeneral housekeeping in accordance with the quality expectationsAssist as needed with internal auditsMaintain customer property within established proceduresMaintain and report on shelf-life sensitive items that are maintained in inventory to ensure the products are not expired beyond useOther duties as assigned.Required Experience1-3 years Quality related experience andor trainingPreferred Supplier required certificates - i.e., GE DSQR, PWA SDRAAerospace experience is preferred
