They will also assist other crew members as needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Ensure locates are correctSafely operate Directional Boring rigsEnsure safe operation of any support equipmentConstantly communicate with crew membersEnsure potholes are dug prior to crossing utilitiesMaintains accuracy in all reporting functionsAssist with JSA’s and constantly being on the lookout for changing conditionsAssist Laborers with hand digging and pot holing when neededPerforms other related duties as assignedSAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Adhere to, promote, and accept personal responsibility for compliance to:Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health RegulationsIndustry Consensus StandardsKGPCo Injury and Illness Prevention Program ManualParticipate in job site safety/hazard analysisMust wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and high visible vest when working on-siteQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONS2-5 years of experience operating Directional Boring rigs and walk over locatingAbility to operate or learn all heavy equipment as needed: boring rigs, mini excavators, backhoes, trenches etc.Class A CDL is preferred but requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAbility to lift up to 75 pounds on occasion and up to 50 pounds on a regular basisAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.A high level of time management, organizational skills, problem solving, solution oriented, accountability, and prioritization skillsAbility to understand utility locatesAbility to review and understand construction drawings and specificationsAbility to detect wearing parts and maintenanceDetermine proper down hole tooling needed “backreaming”Ability to give direction, adapt to change, establish relationships, and assume responsibility for work outcomesKnowledge of public safety and security issues and regulationsExhibit personal power and leadershipExhibit self-awareness Exhibit a tendency for continuing education and self-improvementExhibit enthusiasmand determinationExhibit industry awareness Exhibit exceptional organizational skillsExhibit the ability to live the KGPCo ValuesLANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
