Understand and enforce the Employee Code of Ethics. Be on time for all scheduled shifts as indicated on schedule. Follow proper call of procedures. Be available to cover shifts as needed i.e holidays, to cover sick, vacation, etc. Orient and train newly hired monitors. Report to the Director or Caseworker any resident infractions or concerns. Provide coverage and security at the front desk. Pass out daily mail to Guest. Complete meal logs for Guest who eat at the shelter: Serve meals. Clean and maintain all common areas of the shelter including the kitchen and bathrooms. Complete laundry as needed. Provide residents with toiletries, bed linens and blankets as needed. Clean out rooms as residents exit the shelter. Read daily logbook and complete daily tasks and responsibilities as indicated. Document in logbook and important events or supplies needed. Complete all assigned tasks on daily chore list. Answer all telephone calls, take accurate messages, and forward to appropriate individual.Description of Position:Provide overall support for women and children residents of both our emergency shelter and the permanent housing program. This may include, but is not limited to supervision and guidance, enforcement of shelter rules and regulations, maintaining a safe and secure environment, verbal and written communication with co-workers, monitoring and documenting the resident's behavior, as well as, attendance and absences from the program, performing housekeeping and cooking responsibilities, clerical tasks, and completing emergency intakes.Requirements:Associates or Bachelor's Degree, but will accept High School Diploma or GED (or actively enrolled) with experience. While an appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army is required, being active Salvationist is a plus.
