The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.The general role of a Wind Turbine Technician I - Industrial Services is to provide labor to a wide range of facilities construction, mechanical and industrial projects within the wind industry. This is a semi-skilled position that requiresa mechanical knowledge and aptitude, alongwith a basic knowledge of construction trades. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities:Wind Energy, Oil and Gas, Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Solar, etc.This individual should have a basic understanding of industrial construction and must become proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation. This position will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work and the willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings, and possible night shift.Provide labor for various wind, facilities construction, industrial, and mechanical projectsPerform concrete work, rebar, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, and general labor as requiredPerform a variety of industrial landscaping such as installing silt fences, mowing right of ways, etc.Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectivelyLearn to operate basic machinery such as a man-lift, scissor lift, fork-lift, etc.Assist in the installation of wind turbines, including the assembly of components such as blades, nacelles, and towers Perform routine maintenance to ensure the turbines are operating efficiently to include lubrication, filter changes, and checking for wear and tear on componentsLearn to assemble basic structures such as sheds, garages, etc.Learn to set up rigging to hoist equipmentLearn to select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be movedLearn to attach loads with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hookUse hand signals to direct workers who are engaged in hoisting machinery and equipmentLearn to read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirementsLearn duties of the Wind Turbine Techs and assist as neededSit, talk, hear, read, and write Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armsLift and/or move up to 50 poundsPerform duties on-site at industrial and commercial locationsWork in extreme temperature conditions and environmentsPerform work at a variety of heights0-2 years of basic construction and/or mechanical experience preferred Possesses a mechanical aptitude with prior experience in commercial/industrial mechanical fields preferredValid driver’s license preferredExperience using basic hand toolsAbility to accurately read a tape measureAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations accuratelyAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to follow work directionAbility to meet deadlinesComfortable with working at heights preferredPerks/BenefitsComprehensive BenefitsHealth/Life insurance401(k) retirement planShort/Long term disabilityPaid time off and holidaysPaid lodging, per diem, and transportation provided for out-of-town workEmployee focused work environmentOn-the-job mentoring and trainingInternal job postingsPerformance and salary reviewsEmployee feedback programSafety-first and drug free work environmentsBonuses and incentives for working safelyCompany provided tools and basic safety equipmentPPE allowances with no restrictions on vendorsWeekly pay with premium pay for Sundays and holidaysAdvancement through defined employee career pathsFinancial tools/programs to help employees reach financial goals, manage money, get out of debt, and save for the futureScholarship opportunities for dependent childrenAdditional Eligibility QualificationsThis position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
