This position has been budgeted for $20.27 - $26.56 per hour depending upon qualificationsand is non-negotiable.The mission of Global Campus at San Diego State University is “To be a world leader in delivering innovative educational experiences to all learners, expanding opportunity and transforming lives.”Global Campus serves as a principal University liaison with the greater San Diego community and provides a wide variety of traditional and nontraditional, credit and noncredit educational experiences designed to fit the lifestyle and expectations of international students, working adults and other lifelong learners. In addition, Global Campus provides a range of academic and special programs for individuals and groups at various times, in various locations, and via various modalities, including technology-based programs. Global Campus’s primary audiences include workforce, military, working adults and international constituencies.The International Programs Coordinator covers a wide range of responsibilities in support of SDSU Global Campus programs, including the Semester at SDSU, Winter/Summer Sessions for international students, Global Seminar, Open University and other newly developed programs. This position mostly supports international students and overseas partners, and contributes to program improvement and problem solving.This position is responsible for carrying out administrative support operations and assisting in accomplishing the administrative objectives of a small to medium-sized organizational unit by personally performing the more difficult and responsible administrative support functions. Assignments and projects are varied and complex with longer work cycles and may require specialized knowledge. Administrative support projects often involve coordinating, prioritizing, and monitoring through their completion with accountabilityfor end results individually and tracking work performed by others.Program Support 40%Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of international programs and projectsCoordinate with Program Director to project program enrollments and plan for delivery of commensurate student support involving budgets, facilities, IT, marketing, planning and schedulingMonitor course and program enrollments and analyze enrollment trends for future planningAssist the Global Campus finance team in collecting student payments. Including program tuition, extra units, housing, and activity fees (if applicable)Work with SDSU academic colleges and departments, SDSU Global Campus departments, faculty, staff and other campus units to resolve issues related to International Programs and to achieve other program improvementsRespond to student, partner, staff and faculty inquiries via emails, phone calls, and LiveChatUse Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other databases to record student inquiries, requests for assistance and associated communicationsSupport program-specific activities, such as orientation preparations, orientation coordination with various campus stakeholders, classroom reservations, pre-arrival virtual information sessions, etc.Assist Program Director in creating special session courses for various international programs and/or special cohorts.Coordinate with Global Campus data entry coordinator to ensure course information is entered into appropriate databases in a timely and accurate manner.Create, update, collect and analyze Special Sessions enrollment processes and data. Utilize supplemental data to track demand for coursesSupport the creation and implementation of new programsConduct research, analyze data, prioritize and make recommendations to Program Director to improve efficiency and the effectiveness of programsStudent Support 40%Serve as main point of contact for international students in various Global Campus international programsProvide academic support to international students, such as course selection, registration procedures.Respond to students’ queries regarding articulation and course selectionProcess scholarship-related correspondence, including support letters, learning agreements, confirmation of arrival, etc.Process student requests for Verification of EnrollmentHold regular in-person and virtual office hours for student advisingCommunicate and ensure students are aware of all programs, colleges and SDSU policiesAdministrative Support 15%Update and maintain International Programs manualsMaintain accurate program documentations, and confidential student and financial filesAssist Program Directors in daily tasks including but not limited to correspondence, digital file management, scheduling appointments, and keeping meeting minutesPrepare Certificates for the students to be distributed or picked upOrient new hires student assistants about various programsAssist with paperwork and procedures as needed in relation to classrooms and administrative tasksOther Duties as Assigned 5%Qualifications & SkillsMulticultural competencies: ability to work with a diverse population and demonstrate a high level of cross-cultural sensitivity.Skills in listening, anticipating, and responding to the needs of staff to achieve excellent customer servicesQuick learner, team player, able to keep up with frequently changing environmentAbility to work efficiently as team member and foster positive relationships with co-workers, students, and other stakeholders on campusAbility to display motivation and strong interpersonal skillsAbility to apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address problems and develop solutionsCompetence in understanding, interpreting, communicating and executing procedures and methods, and carry out assignments with minimal supervision.Two years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positionOne or more years of experience working with spreadsheetsMinimum Education & ExperienceEquivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in related fields. Specialized experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. One year of student services work experience or related field.Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.Proficiency in MS Suits and G Suits.High school diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualificaitons & Special SkillsBachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of related work experience in international student advising and higher education program management, or equivalent education and experience.One or more years of experience working with CRMs and/or other databases.One or more years of experience in student advising and/or coaching in a university/college setting.Two or more years of program management/coordination experience.International experiences (such as living and/or teaching abroad).ADDITIONAL APPLICANT INFORMATIONCandidate must reside in California andlive in a commutable distance from SDSUat time of hire.Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results (including a criminal record check).San Diego State University Research Foundation is an EEO/AA/Disability/Vets/Title IX Employer.
