Peraton is seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Electronic Technician I position with the Postal CRF program located in Topeka, KS.The Electronic Technicianworks at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS.The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.Our electronic technicians apply working technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks in working on various types of electronic equipment. Job specific tasks include:Perform testing and repair of simple to medium complexity electronic and electromechanical equipment using common hand tools and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, frequency counters, and oscilloscopes, etc.)Diagnose and repair items to the component level using common hand tools and test equipmentFollow instructions which cover virtually all proceduresReceive technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher-level techniciansWork is given detailed review when new or advanced assignments are involvedPerforms other related duties as assigned#CRF2023Basic Qualifications:High school graduate or equivalentMust have Formal electronics training from an accredited program or equivalent military trainingU.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.Must have knowledge and ability to perform component level repairs on simple to medium complexity electronic/electromechanical itemsUnderstanding of basic troubleshooting techniquesSolid state electronics, and digital and analog theory trainingUnderstanding of general test equipmentKnowledge of schematic symbols, values and their meaningPreferred Qualifications:Experience with handling of ESD sensitive itemsJ-STD-001 certificationISCET Certified Electronic Technician (CET) certificationPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsPhysical activity may include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motionRequired to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminalVisual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection)Subject to hazards.
