The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.The general role of the Field Surveyor is to perform field survey work to support the services and operations of Beitzel Corporation.The Field Surveyor will participate in the conceptual development of site work and construction layout for excavation and construction projects.This position will also be tasked with overseeing the organization, accuracy, compliance, implementation, and progress of field projects.This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of surveying and civil work and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation. This position must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed.Perform topography surveys, construction layout, control surveys and as-built surveys using both conventional and GPS techniquesOperate various survey instruments including Trimble GPS equipment, levels, Nikon total station, and Trimble S7 Robotic stationAdhere to all safety-related and compliance rules and regulationsMaintain accurate field notes, data, photographs, and records essential to projectsDownload and supply accurate and complete survey data to the Project TeamSit, talk, hear, read, write and typeRegularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armsThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 poundsPerform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations• 3+ years of Construction/Grading Survey Crew Chief experience required, 5+ years preferred• Possess a minimum of a high school diploma • Previous experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and/or Industrial Construction Industry preferred• Prior construction inspection experience preferred• PEC SafeLand, OSHA 10 and/or MSHA surface training preferred• Valid driver’s license required• Must possess attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and exactness• Possesses computer skills with familiarity of Microsoft Office programs required• Well versed in Computer Aided Design - AutoCAD• Motivated to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment• Must be able to excel in stressful environments and consistently meet deadlines• Must be able to communicate effectively - both verbally and in writing• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or review• Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging customer needsPerks/BenefitsComprehensive BenefitsHealth/Life insurance401(k) retirement planShort/Long term disabilityPaid time off and holidaysPaid lodging, per diem, and transportation provided for out-of-town workEmployee focused work environmentOn-the-job mentoring and trainingInternal job postingsPerformance and salary reviewsEmployee feedback programSafety-first and drug free work environmentsBonuses and incentives for working safelyCompany provided tools and basic safety equipmentPPE allowances with no restrictions on vendorsWeekly pay with premium pay for Sundays and holidaysAdvancement through defined employee career pathsFinancial tools/programs to help employees reach financial goals, manage money, get out of debt, and save for the futureScholarship opportunities for dependent childrenAdditional Eligibility QualificationsThis position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
