Our company leadership and skilled electricians build trust through best-in-class services, quality workmanship, safety practices, and reliability.Position OverviewGaston Electrical is looking to hire a Sr. Electrical Designer who will lead the electrical design efforts for projects and work closely with the project team throughout (layout, rack, pipe runs, electrical rooms). They will partner with the BIM team to ensure accurate information is loaded into the model and coordinated with all trades, and all drawings are signed off on. They will work with the Prefab Manager and Foreman to identify all Prefab opportunities. They will also work with the Prefab Design team to create build books for the Prefab shop.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.Review project with Project Manager and ensure you understand how project was estimated including workforce hours, the schedule, the specs, all drawings, and the submittalsDevelop the most effective way to build our projectsIdentify prefab opportunities and communicate with Prefab ManagerPrioritize tasks to be done and use a six week schedule to manage workloadWhen GFFM is assigned, ensure they understand the planReview any install drawings you do for the field with GFForeman and Design TeamUse common tool sets (ex. assemblies) to get field install drawings more consistentUtilize model in software to create a Bill of MaterialVisit jobsites and ensure the field understands the intent of prefab and how to install it.Train new crews of prefab means and methodsSeek feedback from the field on ways to improve and incorporate constructive feedback into new projects and processesCommunicate regularly with the PM and Field and ensure company standards are shared and followed. They are your customer.Attend project Coordination meetings and represent Gaston as the technical expertWork towards On Time DeliveriesBe Accountable (take ownership of your role) and hold others accountable to ensure we avoid unnecessary delays or issues on projectsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
