As a vital member of the Community College Opportunity Program (CCOG), the Student Success Navigator plays a pivotal role in fostering community engagement and enhancing student support initiatives at Brookdale College. This position focuses on developing strong relationships within Brookdale's regional communities to facilitate outreach initiatives in support of promoting access to Brookdale Community College and information about the Community College Opportunity Grant financial aid funding and student success services. The Navigator actively engages with local students and families to address barriers to college access, provides connections to enrollment services and financial aid processes, and coordinates participation in community-based meetings, events and activities in Monmouth County. The Navigator works closely with other CCOG Staff members to ensure seamless integration of services and support for students related to admission and financial aid processes. program-related events. Coordinate one-on-one meetings, group information workshops and participate in community-based events and activities. Promote outreach activities with community-based stakeholders, organizations and local school entities.Coordinate and implement strategies for territorial or local on-site programs and special events focusing on high school, adult learners, and under-represented groups in the fulfillment of recruitment efforts.Participate in student programs and activities related to Enrollment, Orientation and other student success or retention related activities and collaborate with Student Success Division to facilitate relevant retention and success initiatives. Provide support for “Early College High School” and “College Readiness Now” initiatives at local high schools. Create, package, monitor and distribute resource materials for site-specific student recruitment, financial aid and retention programs.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including, but not limited to:Stay informed about enrollment services, institutional, state, and federal financial aid opportunities for students, including relevant rules and regulations.Stay current with and advocate for best practices in community outreach, including attending workshops, conferences, and other events focused on enrollment and retention priorities.Collaborate in reviewing and enhancing CCOG operations and procedures, contributing to policy formulation, and devising and executing new strategies and procedures.Establish operational goals and objectives for the role; implement and oversee methods and procedures to improve operations, including outreach and tracking efforts, as suitable for the positionEducation:Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.Experience:Three years of working experience.Experience interacting with local high schools and community organizations in Monmouth County preferred.Working experience in higher education environment preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong communications and interpersonal skills.Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.Organizing and coordinating skills.Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.Capable connecting and engaging with diverse communities..Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Proven skills in examining and implementing new strategies and procedures.Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues.Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.Proven computer literate with proficiency in utilizing and applying Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.Proven skills in the configuration and use of computerized database programs.Evening and weekend availability.
