Employee ownership fosters an entrepreneurial spirit, encourages technical expertise, and shapes strategic planning.KCI BENEFITS INFORMATIONWe offer a competitive compensation package, family friendly benefits, a collaborative working environment, and the training, mentoring and resources you need to advance in your career.We understand that you have choices, and we know that together we will make a great team!KCI is committed to building a diverse and inclusive staff, and we encourage women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities to apply.7+ years of experience in transportation engineering, planning, and designExperience leading a design team for developing plans for NCDOT and North Carolina municipal projects, including drainage, traffic control plans, signing, pavement markings, intersection designs, pedestrian and bike facilities, bridges, construction phasing, and scheduling.Responsible for project delivery of complete transportation design packages including coordination/oversight of multiple design disciplines.Duties include oversight of preparation of plans, technical specifications, quantity takeoffs and construction estimates in accordance withstate design manuals and standard drawings.Project Management experience required, with experience in managing and growing a design team preferred.Experience in developing and managing state DOT projects preferredProposal preparation including scope, schedule and fee.Contract management and billing to achieve profit goals.Strong design knowledge in transportation required.Prepare written technical proposals, assemble teams to meet client criteria, and develop professional relationships.This position requires a demonstrated leader with a broad knowledge of transportation and the processes required to develop design packages utilizingstate design standards.Manage a team of designers, project engineers, and sub-consultants for successful project completion.Candidate must have experience training and development staffPE RequiredBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 7 - 12 years of professional experience.Appropriate professional certification preferred.Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.Complete Annual Individual Training ProgramMentor and train staffTrain adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absenceDevelop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next projectComply with all KCI policies and proceduresEnsure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirementsManage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as requiredComplete other duties as required/assignedProvide input to develop project-specific safety plans and implement project safety plans and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety rules and regulationsReport monthly proposal results to operations managerAchieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasksChart and provide project performance resultsConsult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as requiredDeliver all projects on time and within budget while fully meeting the scopeEnsure effective use of equipment and personnelMeet monthly(or more frequently as necessary) with project analyst to review project invoicesMeet monthly with practice leader to review project performanceOperate within specified (corporate or project) budget parametersPrepare and submit monthly project completion reportPrepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as requiredPrepare monthly progress reports for all projectsPrepare monthly project staff utilization planPropose and negotiate scope, schedule and fee estimate for tasks and projectsProvide bi-weekly percent complete data to project assistantProvide monthly project updates to practice leaderProvide monthly WIP/AR comments to the operations managerProvide technical project and staff oversightProvide weekly new project budget data to the practice leaderServe as project or task manager on select projectsCompare field data to design plansConduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as neededPrepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approvalRead and interpret technical documents required for project execution#LI-KH1KCI Technologies, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
