USD $220,000.00/Yr.USD $250,000.00/Yr.The Senior Vice President of Finance at Service for the Underserved (S:US)plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial management and reporting strategies across various divisions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position provides leadership in fiscal oversight, grant management, revenue cycle, and purchasing. The role involves strategic oversight of finance operations to ensure compliance with government contracts and funding requirements, as well as optimizing financial processes for efficiency and productivity. The Senior VP of Finance serves as a key liaison with external auditors and is instrumental in guiding the organization through managed care transitions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:LeadershipProvides accurate and on-going leadership on all aspects of financial reporting, grant management, revenue cycle.Evaluates the talent level of the current team and takes the appropriate leadership action to mentor, coach, and elevate the team.Serves as a key liaison to external auditors.Displays executive presence, confidence and ease when dealing with differing levels of employees.Analyzes and interprets data outputs and communicates the implications for organizational strategy and programmatic decisions with S: US leadership.Leads all activities related to the migration to managed care, ensuring appropriate controls.Serves as an educator to senior staff members on the impact of managed care within areas of their responsibilities.Ensures consistent, open, and productive communication with all stakeholders, resulting in strategies for the future and addressing any current concerns.Strategic OversightOversees the Limited Partnerships Department to ensure proper accounting, reporting, billing and audit oversight on a timely basis.Oversees the revenue cycle, balancing financial forecasts, cash flow, and expenses.Oversees the Purchasing and Fleet Management Department bringing efficiency to these areas.Oversees other ancillary areas such as Real Estate Accounting, Rental Billing & Collections,Payroll and Accounts Payable to improve efficiency and productivity.Financial ReportingControls all financial reporting of the not-for-profit entities, including audited financial statements, consolidated fiscal reports and A-133.Technology & ProcessesLeverages technology across the enterprise and creates the business case for the adoption of technology applications that will facilitate accuracy of data and customized reporting.Builds effective and efficient core processes that will sustain the organization into the future.KEY PERFORMANCE STANDARDSData Analytics - Able to identify and separate out the key components of problems and situations. Can generate a range of creative solutions, evaluate them and choose the most appropriate option.Leadership and Strategy - Ability to manage resources and lead the organization effectively and ethically, understand stakeholder needs and priorities.Business Reporting - Ability to prepare and communicate high-quality business reports to support stakeholder understanding and decision-making.Stakeholder Relationship and Management - Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and needs by aligning the organization's objectives, engage stakeholders effectively and communicate relevant information using all appropriate technologies.Strategy and Innovation - Ability to assess and evaluate strategic options and identify imaginative opportunities to improve performance and position; implement innovative and cost-effective solutions leading to effective change management and business process improvement.Governance - Risk management and internal control that supports the organization in achieving its objectives.Communication - Strong oral and written skills with proven ability to effectively interface with individuals at various levels within and outside the organization sufficient to exchange information, work cooperatively, facilitate understanding, and persuade and influence others.Integrity - Uphold personal and professional ethics and values, considering the values of the organization and respecting the culture, beliefs and abilities of individuals we serve.Relationships - Ability to develop long-standing relationship with funders and SUS staff.Teamwork - Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and contribute to the leadership that creates a fun work environment where the multidisciplinary team supports one another.REQUIREMENTSREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum of 20 years of applicable experience and a Bachelor's Degree; MBA or other advanced degree highly desirable; CPA also desirable.Management experience in a large, complex, and rapidly growing business with direct involvement in financial strategy, forecasting, and partnering with operational leaders is critical.Collaborative approach to financial management. Strong critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret results while considering implications on programmatic initiatives.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.Direct experience with the selection and implementation of new systems.Business savvy that transcends the limitations of government funding (City, State Federal) models. Exceptional negotiating skills.Experience reporting to a Board of Directors or Board Committees. Ability to motivate and develop staff in a fast-changing environment. A record of managing change and optimizing process and programs.Service for the Underserved (S:US) is a prominent social service and housing agency in New York City, with over 40 years of experience.
