CFR Education, part of the Council on Foreign Relations, seeks to impart understanding of foreign policy and international issues among high school and college students through its educational products: CFR Educationand Convene the Council. These resources equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and perspective that comprise global literacy and form the basis of a global civics education, empowering them to become informed citizens. Reporting to the Vice President, Education, and coordinating closely with the Director, Product, Digital Services, the Senior Product Manager will oversee iteration of existing CFR Education products, aid in launching a new suite of climate materials, spearhead assessment and personalization strategies, and lead additional initiatives.Determine the CFR Education product roadmap, coordinating with Digital Services, along with communicating its projects and priorities- Mediate and facilitate decisions regarding product strategy and user needs- Outline target dates, deliverables, and any adjustments to plans- Determine platform needs and/or evaluate third party platforms for current and future productsDefine product goals, requirements, and measures of success through artifacts such as product briefs and epics / user storiesGuide interdisciplinary teams through ideation, design, development, launch, and iteration- Partner with the Teaching & Learning and Content teams to ensure products’ curricular integrity- Work with external vendors and independent contractors as neededIteratively deliver user value and meet organizational needs through products and features- Solicit and utilize user input to inform product features- Ensure products are stable, maintainable, scalable, and secureEngage, liaise, and build positive and productive partnerships with internal staff- Work closely with the Marketing team on product promotion / awarenessStay current with trends in technology, education technology, and social studies/environmental science and higher ed curriculum to guide the direction of future efforts- Explore incorporation of product content into third-party platforms5+ years’ experience in product management at an educational publisher, edtech, or technology-based companyDeep familiarity with Agile methodology and the Agile development life cycleProven track record getting products from ideation, through construction, to usageStrong communication and collaboration skillsDrupal, Jira, Word Press, and Confluence experience a plusExperience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA or higher a plusAnalytics and/or search engine optimization (SEO) experience a plusExperience teaching high school social studies or higher ed a plusPay Range$110,000 to $130,000 per yearPay commensurate with experience and educationFounded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is a leading nonprofit membership organization, research center, and publisher, with headquarters in New York, an office in Washington, DC, and programs nationwide.
