Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Team Manager for its Specialty Metals Plant (SMP) located in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. The employees of SMP manufacture zirconium-alloy tubing products used in nuclear fuel assemblies for Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel, our licensees, and other customers worldwide. In this position, the Team Manager II is responsible for leading the assigned department. This position reports directly to the Department Area Manager. This position will work with other professionals in order to improve all aspects of production. Ensures a strong nuclear and industrial safety culture permeates the work environment. Ensures customer requirements for product quality and on-time shipments are met. Apply analytical skills to production or equipment issues within department and Plant-wide to initiate proper corrective action. Determine task performance/skill requirements. Evaluate employee skill levels, focus training plans on deficiencies, and reinforce employee development and training. Develops strong employee relations with the workforce. Effectively manages administrative processes for the area. The successful candidate for this position must be able to work second and third shifts and will possess the following: Bachelor of Science Degree, preferred, or related field experience. Five or more years directly related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union environment. Candidate must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time and be able to effectively multi-task and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities. Proficient use of Microsoft Office is required. Proficient use or knowledge of SAP is preferred. Candidate must also be familiar with and/or have experience with lean manufacturing concepts. The candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time and be able to effectively multi-task and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities.
