Position Objective:The Physician is an administrative and operational role that will provide exceptional medical care to patients by conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing patient treatment plans. This role is a safety sensitive position as it involves direct patient care and administering medication. The incumbent will report to the Regional Manager (or similar role) and will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide quality care to patients collaborating with other clinical teams to support team function.Responsibilities:Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine; know limitations and seek consult when advisable; keep abreast of current technologies and industry standardsMeet all clinical obligations of the medical practice: Accrediting Agency compliance, CLIA compliance, drug prescription compliance, HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, Safety Regulations, etcIndependently provide care for patients with acute and chronic illness encountered in the older adult patientAccountable for patient care and outcomes and will appropriately seek consultation from specialists when needed, though will stay involved in, and be responsible for, the detailed care of the patientEngage with hospitalists whenever a patient is in the hospitalAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAssess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, promote health, and provide care coordination and documentation for patients with acute and complex chronic health needs using evidence-based medicine and practice guidelinesMaintain complete and detailed records, electronically in the EMR, of patients’ health care plans and prognosis, completed within 48 hours of each patient’s visitProvide quality evidence based medical care in a managed care environment, focused on prevention, and outcomesExhibit behavior that emphasizes compassion, quality, loyalty, and conscientiousnessInterpret data and diagnostic results for an appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families, and team membersOversee and supervise Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistant when requestedResponsible for ensuring that patients are seen at least every other visit by PhysicianAdditional duties as assignedPosition Requirements/ Skills:Medical Degree from an accredited medical schoolActive medical license in in the state of practiceExcellent diagnostic skills and ability to interpret medical tests and resultsAt least 3 years of experience in outpatient primary care experiencePrior experience working in an electronic medical records systemProvide 5 Star service in accordance with Better Health Group's missionACLS/BLS certification required as mandated by stateExcellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detailDemonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectivelyDemonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and results-oriented capabilitiesMust be able to work professionally with confidential informationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with multiple teamsAbility to shift focus, multi-task, and prioritize in a rapidly changing environmentSTRONG reasoning and critical thinking requiredMUST be results oriented with a focus on quality execution and deliveryWorking knowledge with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaborationPhysical Requirements:Full range of body motion, including handling and transferring patients, manual and finger dexterity;
