In addition, this individual will support university events as needed and provide critical coordination skills for the annual Commencement Event at the University. The successful candidate will provide leadership to student workers, and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment for all members of the National Louis University (NLU) community, serving as a motivator, leader, and problem-solver. Leadership and Team Motivation: Recruit and train student workers.Inspire and motivate the team of student workers to excel in their roles. Provide guidance and direction to student workers, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and tasks.Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.Operations Management:Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient workflow for The Grind, the Store, and assigned events.Coordinate logistics such as venue setup, catering, audiovisual equipment.Handle on-site event management, addressing any issues or challenges that arise during events.Take a lead role in developing and coordinating logistics for Commencement.Event Management:Work closely with the Director of Events in collaboration and execution of internal and external events.Coordinate event logistics and provide on-the-day support to ensure successful outcomes.Provide leadership and direction to student workers throughout the duration of the event, set up and breakdown.Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or GED plus about 5 years of experience required.Prior experience in event management or office administration is a plus.Motivating Team: Takes action that results in a high level of morale and motivation among team members. Assesses and communicates progress on work goals and objectives as well as the level of morale on the team. Raises the motivation level of the team and heads off issues that might lower morale if they were not handled in a timely and effective manner.Time Management: Prioritizes tasks and manages time to ensure that deadlines are met. Plans his or her time and sticks to those plans. Prevents or manages interruptions until the highest priority tasks are accomplished.Leadership: Articulates a vision that others choose to follow.
