The primary function of the Sr. Accountant is to support manufacturing operations and finance by preparing and analyzing financial reports on a monthly and annual frequency. These are reports are used to help make sound business decisions that support the plants objectives and create shareholder value!ResponsibilitiesPerforming month-end activities such as preparing and posting journal entries in SAP, completing the CO Close steps in SAP and preparing balance sheet reconciliations in OneStream.Perform annual activities such as reviewing and updating standard costs in SAP, overhead cost allocations, government reports/surveys, and internal & external audit requests.Exporting data from multiple sources to review & analyze actual results against plan & forecast.Analyze and report on inventory variances and assist with periodic physical inventory countsBuild analytical models utilizing both financial and non-financial data to forecast and analyze operating results. Be able to clearly articulate results back to management in order to drive better business decisions.Facilitate annual planning and quarterly forecasting cycles for support functions.Support World Class Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities by participating in cross-functional business projects and gain a comprehensive knowledge of the operational cost drivers to better support project initiatives.Perform regular deep-dive analyses into production related cost variances to help management identify losses and target areas of improvement.Minimum qualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel is a must.Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Ability to think independently, synthesize data and make proactive, concise recommendations based on findings. Thrives on ability to work autonomously.Creative and innovative team player with a positive approach and a focus on business issues.Demonstrated ability to build successful relationships with plant leadership and regional office personnel.Willingness to take on additional projects and multi-task with changing priorities, as necessary.Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines with emphasis on sustained accuracy and attention to detail.Preferred qualificationsExperience with Hyperion.Manufacturing experience.This role’s salary starts from $80k-100k per year. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan.
