The Client Compliance Analyst supports the Compliance, Pricing and Billing team with client engagements that are governed by Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines (OCG’s). This position will assist with ensuring that all client billing arrangements are set up accurately within 3E. The Client Compliance Analyst participates in billing and collection arrangements, as well as inventory management of client portfolios. This involves assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the Firm’s billing rates, including standard rate structures, client-specific billing arrangements and client costs restrictions. Collaborates with Business Intake, Billing Management, Pricing and Billing Partners to ensure that clients' OCG’s and specifications are received, reviewed, documented, distributed and adhered to;Inputs and maintains billing rate data, billing instructions, new and terminated timekeepers, new and closed matters, billing validation rules and other data specific to client billing reporting directly into 3E;Assists with the execution of client billing guidelines in the billing system, and interprets and maintains guideline details within client or matter master;Maintains client rate arrangements master spreadsheet;Tracks client and matter volume discounts and other special arrangements to ensure the billing department is providing accurate invoices;Prepares and sends rate change notifications for clients in accordance with OCG requirements;Handles complex billing and account analysis directly, when necessary;Provides analysis and critical data to attorneys, clients and management; Develops and maintains productive working relationships with billing attorneys and Firm management;Works closely with the billing manager to maintain and achieve departmental and Firm goals;Collaborates on special projects;Responds to billing and collection related inquiries accurately and timely;Maintains several reporting schedules (i.e., daily weekly, monthly, etc.);Answers client billing and payment queries; andPerforms other duties, as assigned.Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred;1-3 years of legal experience (preferably in a client compliance role);Superior verbal, written and interpersonal skills needed to communicate clearly and concisely with senior management, and with Partners and clients;Knowledge of legal billing requirements, including familiarity with various electronic billing rate requirements;Working knowledge with legal billing software database structure (preferably Elite or 3E);Advance proficiency in MS Excel;Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information;Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently;Strong analytical skills, including excellent detail-orientated proofreading skills;Ability to adapt to cyclical periods, peak workloads, new assignments and work independently to meet deadlines;Must work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines;Excellent multitasking skills;Superior customer relations/service skills; andAbility to work overtime, as needed.This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, Monday through Friday. The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
