Research General Trades TechThe General Trades Technician I is responsible for the building exterior and interior integrity. This includes the building shell of the main complex and all ?owned? off-sites and all wall, ceiling and flooring systems and hardware and fixtures related to those systems. The General Trades Technician also assists departments throughout the Hospital system via the work request system, performing General Trades related or other work that cannot be completed by the requesting department. Must be able to work independently from written or oral instructions without supervision or assistance. Prepares estimates pertaining to material and labor costs and orders material for such estimates and shop stock as needed. May often assist and work with other trades from the Carpenter/Paint Shop on projects requiring fabrication/finishing and support other trades of the Engineering Department. May be required to work after normal working hours, weekends, holidays, work outside during inclement weather conditions, day or night.1st shift Sunday-Wednesday 7am-5:30 The moment you walk through our doors, you can feel it. Performs repair tasks related to the building shell and all systems integrated in that shell. Including but not limited to: floors, floor coverings, ceilings, walls, doors, windows and related hardware. This may involve repair or replacement as dictated by hospital needs or code requirements. May also require assistance/direction of Carpenter staff. 2. Performs monthly and quarterly inspections on systems as assigned via the PM system.3. Repair/install shelving, casework as needed. 4. Repair/install specialized furniture or equipment to specific drawings on request.5. Install/remove artwork, bulletin boards, certificates, computer mounting hardware, etc. as requested by oral or written instruction. 6. Maintain systems as required by NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 80, Joint Commission Surveys, ODH and other regulatory agencies. May involve repairs to smoke and fire barriers and other associated Life Safety systems. 7. Work with other Engineering trades, hospital personnel and outside contractors/vendors as needed.8. Perform minor electrical work when necessary/able to include: trouble shoot/repair low voltage door controls, access systems and change light bulbs.9. Performs general repair work in connection with the maintenance of hospital equipment.10. Performs preventative maintenance of shop equipment as needed. Keep shop and work areas clutter free to maintain safe work environment.11. Assist other hospital departments through the work request system keeping an accurate daily log of hours used and work performed. Enter all information in the work order system and close out completed work orders as required. 12. Inventory and order material as needed.13.
