The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has an exciting opportunity for a marketing professional interested in a customer-facing position in the Journals Marketing team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of the Publications Division by promoting our prestigious scientific journals. AACR journals are respected for publishing groundbreaking discoveries across the spectrum of basic, translational, clinical, and epidemiologic cancer research.The Marketing Operations and Event Coordinator will report to the Associate Director, Journals Marketing, and will work from the AACR office in Philadelphia. The Marketing Operations and Event Coordinator will collaborate with team members to develop and implement conference marketing, direct meeting logistics for in-person and virtual conferences, provide support for journal marketing campaigns, and analyze campaign effectiveness. As an organized and proactive self-starter, the Marketing Operations and Event Coordinator will also be responsible for the fulfillment of paid and house advertising for the AACR journals.MarketingDevelops plans for promoting the Publications Division’s products, initiatives and services at AACR special conferences.Executes digital, social and email marketing campaigns.Executes campaigns driving registration for Publications Division’s events. Plans and manages the logistics for journals’ exhibits, including Annual Meeting publications booth structural design from ideation to final approval, relevant signage, onsite set-up, shipments, creation of materials as specified by the Associate Director, Journals Marketing, and ensuring that all deadlines for material submission are met.Attends conferences (AACR and non-AACR) as a representative of AACR Publications to promote and raise awareness of the journals.Coordinates with internal departments and external organizations to arrange for content distribution, in print and digitally, at non-AACR conferences.Manages Publications’ inventory of exhibit supplies and promotional materials.Supports Associate Director, Journals Marketing in the implementation of tactics for various marketing campaigns, as assigned.Reports on Publications Website traffic and house digital advertising, from marketing campaigns, using Google Analytics and Google Ad Manager.AdvertisingManages the relationship with the advertising sales agency. Coordinates the development of rate cards relating to general and conference advertising opportunities. Communicates regularly about actual and forecasted sales.Fulfills special advertising sales relating to the Annual Meeting, other AACR conferences, and other sponsorships.Collaborates with the production team, internal creative services group, and advertising sales agency to ensure that all required advertising materials are delivered and implemented, meeting all deadlines.Ensures that advertising in print and online is appropriate and is within AACR advertising policy guidelines.Manages the electronic table of contents advertising in online journals.Collects and collates detailed quarterly advertising sales reportsBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office Bachelor’s DegreeHigh level of organization and attention to detailAbility to work effectively with internal and external groupsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skillsAbility to multitaskExperience with Google Ad Manager a plusKnowledge of Google Analytics and other marketing tools a plusAbility to meet deadlinesAbout 10% travel requirementAbility to lift and carry up to 20 poundsSome digital marketing experience preferable How To Apply:If you are interested in being considered for this position, please submit your cover letter, resume, and salary expectationsEqual Opportunity Employer
