High Steel Service Centerhas a 200,000-square-foot facility with 150,000 tons of capacity. A full-line metal processor and distributor, High Steel Service Center offers carbon steel, aluminum flat rolled, and stainless steel products.The Lead Person is responsible for daily planning, directing, training, problem solving and general oversight of his/her assigned area. Accountable to meet production schedules while ensuring conformance to safety, quality and housekeeping standards. Assume the duties of Shift Supervisor when appropriate or designated.Two potential shifts available:2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM3rd shift: Sunday, 10:00 PM - Friday, 6:30 AM2nd & 3rd shift coworkers also enjoy a $3/hr shift differential, and work overtime.Areas of responsibilityfor our Leadperson:Assist, guide, and instruct assigned personnel to perform their job duties as needed to meet expected standards of performance and achieve daily schedule requirements.Assist at all work centers as necessary to achieve planned production schedule and make all scheduled shipments.Ensure all coworkers have proper tools, equipment and supplies needed to perform their job assignments.Provide input to Shift Supervisor regarding selection of coworkers, terminations, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations. Participate in the communication of any of these actions to the coworker.Accurately complete any necessary paperwork.Work experience and additional qualifications:High school diploma or GEDProficient in basic math, including fractions and decimalsAbility to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor3 years previous manufacturing or warehousing experience, requiredPrevious experience operating a sideloader, forklift, and/or overhead crane, requiredAbility to drive a tractor trailer, preferredPrevious experience with truck loading, preferred but not requiredValid PA driver's license is requiredAbility to work overtime, up to 60 hours per week, is requiredWorking for The High Companies:Excellent benefits including medical, dental and vision available for full-time coworkers.
