The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator. The Heavy Equipment Operator should be highly skilled and able to responsibly demonstrate the safe and skillful operation of earth-moving equipment such as excavators, dozers, haul trucks, compactors, loaders, skid steers, bobcats and other pieces of equipment and attachments. Candidate will participate in various types of excavation work to include, but not limited to: large construction, site preparation and development, road work, pad sites, tree clearing and grubbing, underground utility work, grading, trenching, digging, dredging, storm water management, demolition, compaction, slip repair, etc..The Heavy Equipment Operator position will require a flexible work schedule and a willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings and extensive overnight/out-of-town work as needed.Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes and front end loaders to excavate or move dirt, rock, sand, gravel and other materialsResponsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricadingLocate utilities and other buried lines prior to diggingKnowledge of trenching and shoring standardsInspects and maintains equipment as requiredDigs, spreads and levels dirt, gravel or sand; and, mixes, pours and spreads concrete and asphalt using hand toolsPerforms a variety of machine and non-machine tasks such as removing forms, placing pipe in trench, jack hammering, tamping, etc.Exercise proper care, maintenance and operation of company equipmentAdhere to all Company Safety PoliciesPerforms miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as requiredOther DutiesThis job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this position.
