Are you living your life's work? The Patient Access Department at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a per diem Insurance Verification Representatives for its Business Office. Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is a renowned center for cardiac care and ophthalmology. The campus includes the Musculoskeletal Center's outpatient facility at Penn Medicine University City and the Pavilion for Advanced Care, which is home to Penn Medicine's Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center. The Patient Access Department is dedicated to its patients while housing an exciting workplace culture dedicated to collaboration, recognizing achievements/contribution and active learning. As an Insurance Verification Rep, you will be responsible for obtaining pre-certification and referrals for inpatient and same day encounters. Verifying benefits and pre-certify all elective, urgent and emergency admissions. Providing specialized support in the areas of insurance and billing information. Supporting the representatives solving problems and answering questions. This position will ensure access to integrated healthcare; achieve clinically appropriate authorization to assure optimal reimbursement for the hospital for services provided. Position Description: Responsibilities for the Insurance Verification Representative include but are not limited to the following: Obtaining pre-certification and referrals for inpatient and same day encounters Verification of benefits and pre-certification of all elective, urgent and emergency admissions Providing specialized support in the areas of insurance and billing information Supporting representatives solving problems and answering questions Ensuring access to integrated healthcare; achieving clinically appropriate authorization to assure optimal reimbursement for the hospital for services provided Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required Two years hospital related experience preferred Knowledge of third-party billing preferred We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
