We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Fleet Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In thisposition, you will be responsible for traveling with maintenance-related supplies to dispersed equipment and performing on-site maintenance activities on all machinery and vehicles, from heavy-lift equipment to light duty trucks. Your duties will include monitoring inventory, inspecting vehicles, and performing preventative maintenance.The role is planned for off-shift work. This can be flexible and can include nights and weekends. To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic's tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. Ourideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and customer service skills. Mechanic Responsibilities:ï‚ Communicate within our organization to coordinate and schedule PM activities in an efficient mannerï‚ Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehiclesï‚ Operate and inspect machines or vehicles to diagnose defects or functionality problems. Alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspection.ï‚ Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.ï‚ Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasksï‚ Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records, in written or electronic formï‚ Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.ï‚ Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.ï‚ Operate individually and within a team environmentï‚ Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions Mechanic Requirements:ï‚ High school diploma or equivalent qualification.ï‚ Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance schedulingï‚ Certification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred.ï‚ A minimum of 2 years of journeyman level mechanic experience requiredï‚ In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.ï‚ Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.ï‚ Excellent communication and customer service skills.ï‚ Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of armsabove and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in allclimates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work inconfined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipmentï‚ Valid drivers' license required.ï‚ Must pass a background and/or Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) checkï‚ Must pass a pre-employment drug testWe Offer:ï‚ Secure, long-term employmentï‚ Competitive wage and benefits packageï‚ Training and developmentï‚ Opportunities for advancementï‚ OT available Other potential qualifications:ï‚ Automotive Service Excellence Mechanics Certification (A.S.E Certification).ï‚ Experience working on and/or repairing Hydraulic systems on fleet vehicles.ï‚ Certification for Aerial Device Maintenance.
