Group: Construction SolutionsPosition: Resident Project Representative/Project Engineer - Project ManagerLocation: Columbus, OHInspect construction work on transportation and utility infrastructure projects to document conformity to construction standards and specificationsComplete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, as well as field measurements and computations for the quantity of completed work eligible for paymentPerform material sampling and testing on applicable materials such as soil sampling, compaction tests, concrete tests, etc.Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to clientAssist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for considerationManagement/leadership of other construction supervisors and inspection staff on multiple projectsReview construction documents for constructability issues and provide feedback to owner/designerRespond and facilitate responses to RFI’s from contractorsServe as a representative of the firm at all required meetings, leading client coordination throughout the construction progress. Prepare meeting minutes including discussion topics, major decisions, action items, and information needsWilling to work in extreme temperatures as some work assignments are outdoors. Applicant must have the ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.Associates degree, or greater, in related field of study or equivalent of 5+ years of experience through construction and/or inspection servicesDegree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferredBasic knowledge or ability to gain working knowledge of quality requirements for construction materialsAbility to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and standardsStrong interpersonal communications skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)PreviousINDOT, KYTC, or local agency construction inspection experience is preferredINDOT Certified Technician, Qualified Technician, and SiteManager Certification are preferredValid Driver’s LicenseAmerican Structurepoint is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
